Broad Is the Way brings together documentary photography, painting, and mixed media made in and around Alabama. The work considers the visual language of Southern evangelical Christianity and the ways belief becomes embedded in landscape, architecture, the body, and memory. Moving between observed places and constructed imagery, the series explores the uneasy territory between faith, fear, salvation, sexuality, and psychological experience.
